After the dust had settled from our wedding day, we needed to send thank yous out to our guests. Once we got the photos back from our photographer, we both felt it would be a shame to keep all of them to ourselves…or just upload them to a photo album on Facebook.
The idea of printing a digital tabloid newspaper with all of the photos as a thank you really appealed to us – everyone could have something to hold onto as a memento from the day.
There’s something really compelling about newspaper print. Being able to use the newspaper format to build rhythm and variety in the layouts from page to page. It was a great way to tell the story of our day from bridal preparations through to the first dance.
We loved putting the newspaper together. It was a lot of effort, and it took a fair while to mastermind. But it was great to re-live our day and share the photos in this unique way with all of our guests. One of them even said it was the best thing they had received in the mail for years!
