How do we collect information from you?

We collect information about you when:

  • you create an account or upload a newspaper into your account.

  • you order a newspaper. The legal basis for collecting this information is the performance of a contract. We collect your name, email, address, telephone number and company name (if provided). We use the information to complete and update you on your order. For example, we'll email you when we send your newspaper to print or contact you to arrange delivery;

  • you order our free samples. The legal basis for collecting this information is the performance of a contract. We collect your name, email, address and your company name (if provided). We use the information to send your sample and to let you know it's on its way;

  • you sign up to our newsletter. The legal basis for collecting this information is consent. We collect your email address and your first name. We use these for sending you our newsletter. We only send you our newsletter if you choose to subscribe on our website. You can remove consent by unsubscribing from our newsletter at any time;

  • you contact us about our products or services. The legal basis for collecting this information is the performance of a contract. We collect the information you give us to answer your questions. For example, this might be your name and email address;

  • we are legally obliged by HMRC to keep records of our financial transactions (including customer orders). We collect your name, address, company name (if provided) and order number.

Who has access to your information

To fulfil our services to you we have to pass your information to our third party service providers. For example, to process orders, arrange deliveries or send you samples you have requested.

When we use third party service providers, we only pass on the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service.

If you have ordered a newspaper we might invite you by email to review our services and products. We use an external company, Trustpilot A/S, to collect your feedback which means we will share your name, email address and order number with them. We may also use these reviews in other promotional material and media for our advertising and promotional purposes. 

We won't ever sell or rent your information to third parties.

How you can access, update or delete your personal information

The accuracy of your information is important to us.

You have the right:

  • to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you

  • to receive the information we hold about you in a secure, structured, commonly used and machine readable format

  • to change the information we hold about you

  • under certain circumstances, to delete the information we hold about you.

Retention

We only keep your personal information for as long as we need to. We will normally delete unused accounts (including unordered newspapers) after two years. By law, we have to keep records of our sales for up to seven years. After this time we will delete any personal information.

Security precautions to protect your information

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure it's secure. Sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted using current security standards. Non-sensitive details (for example, your email address) are transmitted over the Internet, and can never be guaranteed to be secure. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure it's secure on our systems. If you create an account with us, you are responsible for keeping the password secure and confidential.
