From park tennis to indie rock lyrics: 7 newspapers we love in April
Welcome to our April roundup! Every month, we pick a handful of newspapers that we're excited about to share with you. Here’s what's...

Each month, we look back through the thousands of newspapers we’ve printed and pick some favourites to share. Here’s what's stood out in May – from a collection of 400+ postcards created by international artists to a menswear brand launching a 1960s-style suit with a 1960s-style newspaper campaign.

Wish hue were here
Format: Digital midi / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: A catalogue of 400+ postcards printed by Glasgow-based risograph studio RISOTTO as part of its monthly Riso Club subscrip1-19 Apriltion.
Why we love it: Risotto has been sending out postcards since 2017, and this is the first time they've all been collected in one place. There's original, exuberant work by over 100 artists from all over the world.
"The newspaper marks a huge milestone for what has always been a not-for-profit project, built to keep art traveling and print culture social." –Gabriella Marcella, founder of RISOTTO

Kickin' it
Format: Digital mini / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: A collection of football reportage photographs taken between 1960-1989, selected by art director Jeff Masamori from over 30,000 public domain images in the Dutch Nationaal Archief.
Why we love it: It gives a second life in print to photographs that likely haven’t been seen since they were original published in Dutch newspapers, long before online journalism. The images themselves are fantastic – atmospheric snapshots of football culture from another era.
"I wanted to allude to the sports sections of newspapers these photos would have been published in, but design it [like] a monograph." —Jeff Masamori

For the love of Lewisham
Format: Traditional tabloid / Paper: 52gsm recycled newsprint
What it is: The first edition of The Printing Press, a community newspaper co-designed by eight young people from across Lewisham as part of a creative programme led by Zoe Thompson (aka @zoethezinester) and Sounds Like Chaos.
Why we love it: Long live hyper local news! "This newspaper is a love letter to South East London" says Sounds Like Chaos founder Cleo Thompson. Alongside work from Lewisham-based creatives, there are interviews with locals including a councillor, the owners of a children's bookshop and the founder of a new community radio station.

Suited to print
Format: Traditional broadsheet / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: A printed preview of a new suit from Australian menswear label Milkbar.
Why we love it: "This release won't be posted on Instagram" is how Milkbar announced the suit on its website. The only way to learn about it is to pick up a copy of the broadsheet, which they’ve dropped at cafes around Melbourne.
“This will either be brilliant or the worst business decision I’ve ever made,” says Milkbar founder Simon Agosta. Judging by the response from people so far, it's looking like the former.

Illustrated life
Format: Digital tabloid / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: An illustrated newspaper accompanying a This New Ground exhibition at Aspex Portsmouth, exploring the experiences of people with learning disabilities. It tells the story of Ray through artwork by Orlando Richardson.
Why we love it: The newspaper extends the exhibition outside of the gallery. "It makes the story more accessible and engaging for a wider audience," says Aspex Portsmouth. "And allows Ray’s story to continue to be seen far beyond the exhibition."

Animation publication
Format: Digital tabloid / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: A friendly introduction to London-based studio Animade and its characterful design and animation services.
Why we love it: We've been printing for Animade since 2016, and it's always a joy to see their playful covers. They've recently refreshed the brand and used a newspaper to explore the new visual identity in print.

Timely press
Format: Traditional broadsheet / Paper: 45gsm salmon newsprint
What it is: A newspaper by watch brand Ressence launched at Watches and Wonders and Milan Design Week 2026. It blends watchmaking, design and culture featuring contributions from Stefan Sagmeister Marc Newson, Robin Swithinbank and more.
Why we love it: It takes a familiar newspaper format and focuses it on a niche subject in a really elegant way. We don’t often print salmon broadsheets so this one really stands out.

Period press
Format: Digital tabloid / Paper: 55gsm improved newsprint
What it is: A printed newsletter for #HappyPeriod, an organisation that supports menstrual health education and access.
Why we love it: It educated people about an important cause in a fun, engaging way. The team used our free Canva template (the Daily Tabloid design) but customised it so their personality really comes through.
"Making a print newspaper was a digital marketer’s dream. It’s nothing we’ve ever done before." —Chelsea VonChaz, executive director
