The zine of illustrated flash prose
Welcome to Penny: the collaborative zine of illustrated flash prose! Inside Issue One, you’ll find 17 pieces of illustrated flash fiction, creative nonfiction, and prose poetry, along with a poster for you to pin up. Penny aims to bring more readers into the lit mag fold by deepening the wellspring of illustration and literary writing. Features 34 writers and illustrators, including Jerome Charyn (Michael Chabon calls him, “one of the most important writers in American literature").
After a year-long digital experiment to create a call-and-response platform for writers and illustrators (we like to think of it as an incubator for illustrated prose), we are over the moon to present our first printed issue.
