Excellent customer service is a vital part of Newspaper Club (check out our reviews on Trustpilot!) We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our customer support team.

This is a hands-on role in a busy team dealing with enquiries and orders from all over the world.

Most of our support is online using email and chat but can also be by phone and in person.

About the role

  • Hours – ideally this is a full-time position (35 hours per week, Monday-Friday), but we would like to hear from anyone who can work 25+ hours over at least 4 days per week
  • Salary – £19,500 - £22,000 depending on experience + profit share
  • Location – remote / Glasgow city centre
  • Type of contract - maternity cover (1-year minimum)

Role description

  • Deliver exceptional customer support at all times by helping customers in a fast, focused and friendly way
  • Help a wide range of customers choose the right newspaper product and set up their file using our artwork guidelines
  • Check and process orders quickly and effectively
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners to make sure that operations run smoothly
  • Deal with problems in a quick and calm way, and take steps to prevent issues from reoccurring
  • Help with routine administrative tasks like issuing invoices, general housekeeping and managing the office
  • Assist others and contribute to the smooth running of the business.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer support role
  • Excellent communication skills and be friendly, in person and in writing
  • Initiative – an organised self-starter who is able to prioritise
  • A desire to learn new things and adapt to changing situations
  • The ability to work well in a small, interdisciplinary team, both remotely and in person
  • Experience using design packages like Canva, InDesign and Acrobat Pro and preparing files for print
  • Experience with help desk software like HelpScout, Desk or Zendesk
  • An eye for improvements and opportunities for change who can work with the team to deliver solutions
